There is so much to see and do at Walt Disney World, that sometimes, things tend to be overlooked. Although, whenever you visit the Polynesian Resort, you can’t help but notice the fountains and water areas inside and outside the main lobby. In this very short RR&R segment (and yes, we do mean short), Shontell and John Van Meter, from Owner’s Locker, take a brief moment to enjoy the water fountains.

When you’re at Walt Disney World, you may only have a few moments to take a break from all of your vacationing. But those few moments may be all you need to re-energize…after all, there are parks to explore. If you are at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jambo House, might we suggest the rocking chair balcony? This week, Shontell is joined by John Van Meter, of Owner’s Locker, to take just a few precious moments to enjoy the savanna from the comfort of a rocking chair.

We hit 2010 running…well…in this case, riding along the waterways. Specifically, the waterways between Saratoga Springs Resort and Downtown Disney. Tim Krasniewski from DVCNews.com joins Shontell in this week’s episode. Enjoy!

Whenever you go on vacation, one of the most popular amenities is the pool. However, when you stay at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, you have more than one choice when it comes to pools. In fact, you have 5 to choose from. This week on RR&R, Shontell is joined by Tim Krasniewski of DVCNews.com to discuss the pools of Saratoga Springs.

John Van Meter spends a lot of time on Walt Disney World property as he delivers Owner’s Lockers to guests who have just arrived for a magical Walt Disney World vacation. All that deliverin’ can make one a little tuckered out, which is exactly why he wanted to show us the lobby inside of the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. It is a great spot filled with serenity and attention to detail that reflects the Pacific Northwest. Join Shontell and John as they take a few moments to unwind.

Our good friend John Van Meter, of Owner’s Locker, is the master of finding so many great spots throughout the Walt Disney World Resort to relax. When you spend most of you day delivering the Purple Place for Storing Your Vacation Stuff to all of the anxious vacationers, you get to thoroughly know the resorts inside and out. And who doesn’t deserve a minute or two to enjoy themselves in a serene environment? This week’s spot is truly one of our personal favorites so far. On Thursday, Shontell and John share with our viewers the lobby inside of the DVC’s Villas at Wilderness Lodge.
With the Summer officially coming to a close, it’s time to slip away into what the fall has to bring. But, this is Florida after all, and the summer temperatures tend to last a little bit longer. Which is exactly why Shontell and Deb Wills, of AllEars.net, have chosen this week’s relaxation spot inside of the Breezeway in the Beach Club Villas. We hope you enjoy this week, and will leave us a comment below.
Oh, and one other item, this is the first video we now made available in a larger Hi-Def format, in both streaming and .mp4 download. Those options are available below.

After a long day in the parks, you just have to take a few moments to relax and recharge your batteries. Maybe a quiet little nook tucked away in a lodge that resembles something out of the Pacific Northwest. This week, we are heading over to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge with John Van Meter, Co-founder of Owner’s Locker, as he shares with us one of his absolute favorite spots on property to slip away. We hope you enjoy this week’s video, and we invite you to let us know what you think by commenting below. Welcome to Disney's Vero Beach Resort (Click for larger image)
With summer swiftly coming to an end we found ourselves in the ideal spot for relaxing – the beach. But not just any beach, we ventured over to Disney’s Vero Beach and soaked up some sunshine amidst the magic that Disney somehow always manages to create. If you saw this week’s video, you met our special guest, Rick Howard, who happens to call Vero Beach home and is lucky enough to get some pixie dust daily if he stops by this special resort for lunch, dinner, cocktails by the pool, or relaxing with his toes in the sand surfside.
I’ve been enjoying the Vero Beach resort since becoming a DVC Member in 1998 but many folks miss out on this “best kept secret” because it isn’t in the heart of Orlando with Mickey and his crew. However, for those who have been adventurous, I always hear accolades about what a pleasant surprise the property, as well as the fun to be had, includes on their trip!

We will have more segments down the road to highlight other fun items at Vero Beach, but for now, let’s look at some of the beach activities and options.
Disney makes the following items available for rent to enhance your time in the sun and sand:
We also noticed a Hobiecat but didn’t see any posting for a rental rate so it might be worth investigating while you are there.

The beach is as private as it can be given it is a “public” area. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it crowded and Rick mentioned that our video day was as busy as he has ever experienced. If you wanted some private book reading time, a simple walk a few steps away from the resort should allow you all the quiet time you need. For the kids and kids at heart, the toys listed above should keep them plenty busy but consider bringing a kite to fly and a netted bag for collecting shells. The store at the resort may have both but the local shops will certainly accommodate.
So remember, for a little R&R on your next trip to Vero, we recommend relaxing on a lounger by the beach or getting in a little recess with the toys. Either way, you’ve got the connection to nature and of course, the Disney magic.
I hope you enjoyed this week’s segment and will let us know your favorite beachside drink for our question of the week…we would love to hear from you! Please leave your thoughts by clicking the “comments” link below.
For more information on Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, I have included a link to a previous trip report I did for AllEars.net. Access it by clicking here.
This week, RR&R takes you outside of Orlando, but we’re still on Disney property. How can that be? Well, Shontell takes a quick jaunt southeast to enjoy a relaxing day at the ocean at none other than Disney Vacation Club’s Vero Beach Resort. Joined by Vero resident, and host of the Travel with Rick Video Blog, Rick Howard, the two offer their personal recommendations for enjoying a day down by the shore.
We would love to hear your comments and encourage you to leave one below after you watch the video.
